NANO pHLOW™: Cleaner water, tighter chemistry for Enlist One® applications

NANO pHLOW™ is now approved for use with Enlist One® , giving Enlist applicators a water-first tool that helps condition the carrier and optimize pH before loading herbicides and other tank mix partners.

Most spray loads start with hard water, and hard water can quietly steal performance. Many tank-mixed pesticides and crop inputs work best in a slightly acidic solution, but typical carrier water often runs higher pH and contains calcium and magnesium that can interfere with performance.

NANO pHLOW™ is built to fix the water first. It’s a water conditioner designed to lower spray solution pH, tie up hard-water minerals, and support better droplet behavior and leaf interaction so the rest of the tank can do its job.

What it does in the tank

Lowers pH with a visual indicator (Spectra technology) and helps manage hard-water minerals like calcium, magnesium, and iron.
Improves adhesion and absorption (LeafLink™) to help inputs interact with the leaf surface more effectively.
Adds biostimulant support with fulvic acid, kelp extract, plant hydrolysates, and carbohydrates to help the crop handle stress.
Supports coverage and oxygenation with ultra-stable air molecules under 200 nanometers (NanoRain™) to help with deposition and spray behavior

Spring Cleaning Tips

SEED

Place seed in the barn by your intended planting order.
Put a piece of paper on the bags or boxes with the intended field name and population that you intend to plant.
Double check your acres with your delivered seed and planting populations to ensure you have enough.

CHEMISTRY

Stage chemistry products in your barn by both crop and application.
Some product totes look similar. Ensure product labels are facing outward, in your line of sight, and similar looking labels/totes are not stacked together by mistake.
Recirculate ALL chemistry totes prior to use.
Calibrate pumps and meters close to the time of use. The viscosity of chemistry changes as the temperature changes and will alter your calibration.
Clean all pumps and meters with TripleRinse tank cleaner to ensure no residues are left behind.
TripleRinse tank cleaner and FoamAway defoamer. Do you have a case of each?
Do you have enough chemistry products for your acres and use rate of each product? Double check all math.
Prior to spraying, ensure all screens/nozzles have been thoroughly cleaned and the sprayer triple rinsed with TripleRinse tank cleaner.

NUTRITIONAL PRODUCTS

Prior to bulk delivery of YieldStarters or YieldBuilder foliars, bulk tanks must be thoroughly emptied and cleaned if they were used for 28% or Thio-Sul in the past. No 28% or Thio-Sul can be left in the tank at all. Vitaliz cannot come in contact with UAN.
If planter pumps/lines were winterized with UAN or anti-freeze, thoroughly clean out both pumps and lines prior to putting row starter products in your planter tanks.
Check and clean all screens on your planter
Recirculate fertilizer totes prior to use. Bubble or recirculate bulk nutritional tanks to prevent any settling of raw ingredients. This is especially important if you took Fall delivery of these products.
On your tender trailer, if using both 2x2 and in-furrow, ensure that plumbing is done in such a way to not have UAN come in contact with your in-furrow YieldStarters.
Double check your use rates and acres with delivered product to ensure you have enough.

At Yield Innovations, STEP 1 of TAPS is simple: make sure your soil is fueled to the critical level with dry fertilizer, then build the rest of your program on top of that foundation. Recent work from Precision Planting’s PTI Farm reinforces why smart, strategic dry applications matter.

Broadcast vs. Banding: What PTI is Seeing

In a recent InsidePTI episode, the Precision Planting Team compares broadcast applications to banded placement in corn and soybeans. Their running takeaway is that placement changes performance. Banded nutrients concentrate fertility where developing roots will find it first, improving nutrient-use efficiency compared to the same rate broadcast across the whole field. The economics depend on response and price, but the agronomy trend is clear.

PTI is in their 4th year of a 10 year study in which numbers show that banding fertilizer consistently out-returns broadcast. Check it out here:

Root Rot Alert: Protect Your Yield Potential

As the season moves into its reproductive stages, your window for in-furrow applications may have closed, but your opportunity to protect root health and reduce yield loss is still wide open.

Root rot, including Phytophthora, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, and Pythium, are silent yield thieves. You can’t always see them, but they’re there: crippling nutrient uptake, stunting growth, and cutting into your ROI long before harvest.

Roots are the plant’s lifeline. They absorb nutrients and water, regulate stress response, and anchor your yield potential. But by the time crops hit reproduction, 10-30% of corn roots and 5-20% of soybean roots can already be compromised by rot. That means even modest infections can lead to substantial yield loss without a single visible leaf symptom.

Because root rot typically goes undiagnosed until it’s too late, proactive foliar strategies are your best defense. And the key player is potassium .

Through the TAPS (The Agronomic Profit System) program, Yield Innovations recommends applying potassium in highly available, soluble foliar forms to support plant health and suppress root disease pressure, even now, mid-season.

Orthophosphates vs. Polyphosphates: What’s the Difference and Why It Matters for Your Crop

When it comes to phosphorus fertility, the source matters and not all phosphorus is created equal. Whether you’re applying it in-furrow, 2×2, or through foliar treatments, knowing the difference between orthophosphate and polyphosphate can make a measurable difference in nutrient availability and crop response.

Orthophosphate: Instant Availability

Orthophosphate is the form of phosphorus that is immediately available to the plant at the time of application. There’s no conversion required; it’s ready when your crop is.

100% plant-available
Ideal for starter applications and early root development
Derived from phosphoric acid (check your label!)

Polyphosphate: Delayed Release

Polyphosphate is a condensed form of phosphorus that must convert to orthophosphate before it becomes available to the plant. That conversion can take time and it depends on external conditions like soil moisture and microbial activity.

What Really Matters: Solubility and Source

Don’t be fooled by just the N-P-K analysis. The “derived from” section on your label tells the real story. Solubility is directly tied to availability. A product with 100% polyphosphate may look good on paper but won’t perform like a product with more orthophosphate content.

Dry potassium fertilizer does not provide a steady available stream of potassium

The availability of potassium from soil applied potash is HIGHLY dependent on soil moisture. As soils dry out during the growing season (when yield is being determined), potash availability greatly diminishes. We have been spending a tremendous amount of money on a product that is not available when we often need it! Potassium Chloride (0-0-60) requires 85% soil wetness to solubilize or be plant available. How often during the growing season is the soil drier than 85% wet? With a high yield mindset, we simply cannot leave potassium availability completely up to mother nature providing a timely rainfall event… and at the right yield-influencing time!

Potash (0-0-60) loses its availability as the soil dries out. However, potassium acetate is still available when soil dries out another 264.8%! So, potassium acetate is more available in soil applied applications when the soil is dry and will stay available as the soil begins to dry out.

The majority of Yield Innovations’ products are in the Potassium Acetate form, the most soluble form of potassium!
